Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art Reopens November 12 with New Exhibit

MGM Resorts Art & Culture will unveil Always More: Collecting in Vegas at Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art on November 12 as the venue reopens and welcomes back guests. Always More: Collecting in Vegas features a selection of works on loan from a number of Las Vegas collectors, as well as signature pieces from the MGM Resorts Art Collection.

Passionate Las Vegas art collectors have agreed to share some of their favorite pieces in this exhibition and many are being shown publicly for the first time. Collectors include: Ralph DeLuca, Jill and Frank Fertitta, Teresa and Lorenzo Fertitta, Robin and Danny Greenspun, Hunter Campbell, Dana and Greg Lee, Sandee and Tito Tiberti and Elaine Wynn.

The featured works represent a cross-section of 20th century and contemporary art from a variety of artists including Diane Arbus, Ross Bleckner, Cecily Brown, George Condo, Takashi Murakami, James Nares, Helmut Newton, Pablo Picasso, Joyce Pensato, Richard Prince, Robert Rauschenberg, Kazuo Shiraga, Gary Simmons, Lorna Simpson, Rosemarie Trockel and Manolo Valdés.

Always More: Collecting in Vegas is inspired by the notion that collecting art is a highly personal journey. When adding art to their homes, collectors consider a variety of factors including what feelings a piece evokes; what meaning it brings into the space; the cultural significance of the work; and the visual appeal. As guests experience Always More, they are encouraged to reflect on these factors and the emotional and cultural value of collecting art.

The exhibition is co-curated by Executive Director of MGM Resorts Art & Culture Tarissa Tiberti and Las Vegas-based private art advisor and strategist Heather Harmon.

Las Vegas is a city rooted in history and culture. Art has been and continues to be an essential part of that story. At MGM Resorts, we value the fact that art is truly part of our DNA, and we strive to achieve a cohesive blend of entertainment, culture and luxury for our visitors. Showcasing our community and its collections seemed to be a great opportunity for the reopening of Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art,” said Tiberti. “Also, a special thank you to Heather who has played an integral role in this exhibition. As our co-curator, she was able to weave her vast knowledge and passion for Las Vegas into every detail. Her expertise has been invaluable in making this show come to life.”

Raised in Las Vegas and a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Harmon is deeply immersed in the local art scene and recently served as Director of the Nevada Museum of Art, helping to establish an art museum in Southern Nevada. Harmon lends her expertise to artists, galleries and museums around the world.

This exhibition will close on February 15, 2021.
