With tourism supporting over 179,000 jobs in Orange County, hosting this business-driven event further solidifies Anaheim’s position as the epicenter for tourism in Orange County.

From June 1-5, 2019, IPW will bring more than 6,000 delegates from 70 countries to a completely revitalized Anaheim. According to Rockport Analytics, Anaheim and Orange County can expect hundreds of thousands of new visitors in the three years following IPW, who will spend hundreds of millions of dollars in local economic impact.

“Tourism is our #1 industry in Anaheim; IPW allows us to be front and center to thousands of influencers, driving international tourism to our destination,” said Jay Burress, president & CEO, Visit Anaheim. “Hosting a show of this magnitude will bring substantial new international tourism business to our city creating an increase in jobs and revenue for our community.”

The annual IPW trade show brings together international travel buyers with travel professionals representing destinations, hotels and attractions to conduct business otherwise generated through exhaustive international trips. More than $4.7 billion in future travel to the U.S. is contracted on the show floor and over 500 travel journalists from around the world also attend IPW bringing in ample exposure to the entire Anaheim and Orange County region.

“IPW is only a few days long, but its impact on the region’s economy will be felt for years to come,” said U.S. Travel President and CEO Roger Dow. “As a result of the important work we’ll all do next week, Anaheim and the Orange County region can expect to welcome thousands of additional international visitors over the next three years.”

This year will be the 10th time IPW has been held in California and the second time it will be held in Anaheim since hosting in 2007. In the more than 13 years since delegates have likely been to the destination, Anaheim has undergone an incredible transformation.

“Our plan for IPW is simple – transform the way attendees see Anaheim by providing uncommon experiences at every turn,”
said Burress.

Over the last three years alone, approximately $4.5 billion in destination development investment projects have spread across the city. Theme park enhancements offer unrivaled guest experiences while Anaheim and Garden Grove’s hotel portfolio continues to expand with 1,561 hotel rooms added to the greater Anaheim Resort™ district since 2016. New and diverse attractions, hotels, restaurants, and craft breweries are part of the city’s evolution, drawing more than 24 million visitors each year.

“In a state full of dreamers, Anaheim’s spirit of creativity and innovation runs deep,” Visit California President & CEO Caroline Beteta said. “The Golden State is thrilled to welcome IPW back for the 10th time, and to share our ‘all dreams welcome’ approach with the travel world while they’re here.”
