“2014 is going to be an exciting year in Brooklyn,” said Chamber President and CEO Carlo Scissura. “We have the hotels, events space, entertainment, bars, restaurants, cultural attractions and brand that the whole world wants to be associated with. As GQ Magazine declared: 'Brooklyn is the Coolest City on the Planet.'”

Brooklyn's neighborhoods have a long history of welcoming the world's citizens. No matter where you are from, you are likely to find a local newspaper written in your native tongue. Brooklyn also has the most authentic world cuisine in the country – and the best tasting too. Whether it is Turkish food in Sheepshead Bay, Jerk Chicken in Flatbush or cannoli in Bensonhurst we have it here and we do it right. Our connection to the world, in addition to our reputation for being on the cutting edge of culture and entertainment, has led to a significant increase in the number of travelers visiting Brooklyn as a standalone destination apart from the rest of New York City.

Connected by a network of transportation options, including rail, bus, and ferry service, Brooklyn is the most populous borough of New York City, and it is fast becoming the most popular borough for visitors as well.

Over the past year fantastic new event spaces like the Duggal Greenhouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and Weylin B. Seymour's, located in the beautifully restored Williamsburg Savings Bank, have opened for any event – from small weddings to large trade shows. The brand new Lakeside Center in Prospect Park with 32,000 square feet for roller and ice-skating has also opened, the renown Theatre for a New Audience has opened its new home in Fort Greene and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is taking a vacation and hosting its induction ceremony at Barclays – the hottest arena in the country.
These new spaces enhance Brooklyn's longstanding world-class institutions. From Marine Park to Greenpoint, Brooklyn's neighborhoods have the arts and entertainment, parks, community and sporting events, shopping and dining, and people that have turned the Borough of Kings into a global destination.

“We are also pleased to say that Brooklyn's shoreline has bounced back from Hurricane Sandy,
” said Scissura. “Luna Park is opening the Thunderbolt this May, which will be the first new roller coaster on Coney Island since 1927, and businesses like the famed River Café, Red Hook Winery, New York Aquarium and Nathan's Famous hot dog stand are all open for business and our waterfront renaissance is back on track.

Simply put, there is no stopping Brooklyn. Come for business, come for pleasure. Come to Brooklyn.
