Universal Studios Hollywood debuts with new attractions

Universal Studios Hollywood’s ongoing revitalization debuts new “Kung Fu Panda” atraction, Welcomes Hello Kitty and Bids Farewell to its iconic “Jurassic Park—The Ride” as preparations begin for the 2019 arrival of a C=colossal new adventure with the “Jurassic World” Ride.

• On September 3, 2018, Universal Studios Hollywood will bid a fond farewell to “Jurassic Park—The Ride” as the destination starts excavation for the highly anticipated arrival of a new epic adventure inspired by Universal Pictures’ global blockbuster franchise, Jurassic World. In 2019, Universal Studios Hollywood will debut the “Jurassic World Ride,” a completely reimagined thrill ride that will fuse 21st century technology with astounding special effects and never-before-seen dinosaurs.
The transition begins with a Countdown to the Extinction of “Jurassic Park—The Ride” campaign inviting guests from around the world to visit and experience the original thrill ride that, since 1996, has sent millions of guests back in time to the Jurassic era for menacing face-to-face encounters with such predators as Stegosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Dilophosaurus, Velociraptors and the Tyrannosaurus rex.
When the “Jurassic Park Ride” opens in 2019, guests will encounter a highly innovative iteration of the original ground-breaking adventure that will elevate every facet of the experience. From the introduction of new dinosaurs, enhanced storytelling, lush scenic design, an all-new color scheme and uncompromised state o the art technology, the ride will reveal a cornucopia of elements never experienced within a theme park attraction.

• On June 15, 2018, Universal Studios Hollywood will introduce its all-new attraction, DreamWorks Theatre Featuring “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest.” Inspired by the global blockbuster franchise, the attraction will take guests on a thrilling journey that fuses captivating storytelling with state-of-the art visual effects for a highly engaging experience.
Created and produced by DreamWorks Animation and Universal Creative, “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest” recounts a plot filled story whereby on the morning of The Emperor’s Great Feast of Heroes, dragon warrior Po embarks on a wild and perilous mission to deliver the rare and precious Liquid of Limitless Power to the palace, while enlisting guests to join him on the exciting adventure filled with raging rapids, river pirates, awesome magic and Kung Fu.
With cutting-edge technology at the forefront of the multi-sensory attraction, “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest” will introduce the first-ever integration of interior projection mapping designed to engulf guests in 180 degrees of immersive adventure. Developed by the innovative team at Universal Creative, this never- before-adapted technique will depict a series of immersive and visually dynamic scenic designs that will transform within the interior space and enhance the story. With detailing that is so precise, it will be near impossible to realize the projected imagery is a mere illusion.

Hello Kitty, the beloved global pop icon created by the Japanese company Sanrio, recently joined Universal Studios Hollywood as part of the all-new Animation Studio Store. In true Hollywood fashion, the spotlight now shines brightly on Hello Kitty and her friends, including My Melody, Keroppi and Chococat, as they star in a selection o park-exclusive merchandise, including accessories, apparel, stationery, souvenirs and collectibles. Highlights of the exclusive product offerings feature designs incorporating Sanrio characters into classic Universal titles such as Jaws, E.T. The Extra -Terrestrial, Back to the Future and more, as well as the group enjoying a variety of Universal Studios Hollywood theme park attractions, from the world-famou Studio Tour to the “Jurassic Park—The Ride” and “King Kong 360 3D.” New park- exclusive merchandise will be released regularly.

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band took center stage performing at the grand opening of Universal CityWalk Hollywood’s newest dining experience, Jimmy Buffett’ Margaritaville. The first-ever Los Angeles-based location invites guests to escape the everyday and dine within a casual seaside retreat environment amid palm trees, thatched enclaves, island music and surfboard tables. The venue’s expansive 5 O’Cl Somewhere Bar features such hand-crafted cocktails and signature margaritas as th Who’s to Blame® Margarita or the 5 O’Clock Somewhere boat drink while live music and entertainment complement the dining experience featuring such signature dishe Jimmy’s Jammin’ Jambalaya ®, Caribbean Blackened, Island Kabobos or a Cheeseburger in Paradise ®.

• Voodoo Doughnut casts a spell on Universal CityWalk Hollywood with its decadent and eclectic palate-pleasing pastry creations that range from Bacon Maple Bar and Oh Captain, My Captain to Grape Ape, Mango Tango and its signature Voodoo Doll doughnuts. This first-ever California location serves up delicious traditional and vega out-of-this-world sweet and savory treats inspired by its hometown Portland, Oregon location.
