Oakland Zoo Opens New Restaurant and Gondola

The Oakland Zoo’s new restaurant, Landing Café, features views overlooking the Bay Area through the glass-lined walls of the space and viewing deck. You can access the new restaurant by taking a four-minute ride on the zoo’s new eight passenger gondola, Northern California’s only urban gondola. The restaurant features a locally- sourced, seasonally rotating menu and will serve dishes such as, breaded chicken sandwiches, avocado toast, pizzas and salads. This new addition is the first phase of the Oakland zoo’s California Trail expansion, a new exhibit that will explore California’s history with California native animals.

Oakland Supply Co. Reopens in Jack London Square

Oakland retail store, Oakland Supply Co., is now open in Jack London Square. The store sells clothing, jewelry, accessories, gifts and more. The new location will be accessible to visitors, as Jack London Square has many restaurants, wineries, bars and entertainment.

Oakland Museum of California LGBT History Tour: June 11, 18 & 25 | Oakland Museum of California
In honor of Pride month, celebrate with a Docent Tour of the museum’s Galleries focused on LGBT history in California. Explore the legacy of early LGBT leaders and recent issues such as Proposition 8 and its overturning. LGBT History Tours are offered every Sunday at noon during the month of June.
