Downtown Connection Buse gets re-routed

Do you use the Alliance’s free, seven-day-a-week bus service, the Downtown Connection, to get around Lower Manhattan?

27.03.2017 00:00 |  Alliance for Downtown New York |

If not, give it a try! Our seven, bright-red, state-of-the-art buses run from 10 A.M. to 7:30 P.M. every day (except Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) and offer ample seating, GPS technology and free Wi-Fi onboard.

If you are already a fan of Lower Manhattan’s free ride, you should know about some important, service changes that have taken place and will be in effect until September 2019.

Because of a major street reconstruction project, Downtown Connection buses will no longer make stops along Warren Street. Seaport-bound buses from North End Avenue will now travel east along Chambers Street and return to normal service at Broadway and Murray Street. If you need to get to Whole Foods, we recommend you use the stop at Murray and Greenwich Street. Please check out the Downtown Connection webpage for more details.

The Downtown Connection, which began in 2003, now serves more than 630,000 riders every year. The service recently added a new drop-off only location at South Street and Peck Slip (in front of The Paris Café at 119 South Street).

Downtown Connection buses make a total of 35 stops along a route that travels the neighborhood’s perimeter and connects the Battery with the Seaport — and everything in between.

Rides are free – so hop on and off as often as you like!
